I was inspired to write this WIRL after reading about Jacquelyn Frazier. Jacquelyn Frazier is a social media maven, a mom, and the wife of Cincinnati Reds standout Todd Frazier. Todd just so happens to be this years MLB home run derby champion. He also made $3.75 million this past year and will make $8.25 million next year. So to say that Jacquelyn doesn’t have to work might be an understatement. But she CHOOSES to run her own business with Rodan + Fields. I too have chosen to partner with the doctors of Proactiv Solution while they take over the anti-aging skincare market. And even though I am FAR from Jacquelyn’s financial situation, I didn’t start my business necessarily for the income. I know a lot of people who start their business to have more income and time freedom. But for me, I honestly started for fun. A lot of my girlfriends were doing great at it and I saw them one after another retire from their corporate careers because of Rodan + Fields. And they were having FUN doing so! As a stay-at-home mom, I was missing a sense of self accomplishment and self fulfillment that I had when I was working full time. But I certainly didn’t want to go back to working for someone else. So now, just like Jacquelyn, I CHOOSE to work on my own terms and on my own time, when I CHOOSE! I feel so blessed that I was introduced to this business so I never HAVE to work. Never before have I been apart of something so inspiring, uplifting and encouraging. The passion I have for my “work” is eye opening. And when you find something you love, you will never WORK a day in your life. And I get to tell everyone I know about it in the hopes that this business can be a blessing for them as well!

Ok yes, I knew I was a twin my whole life, but for the first 33 years, we were told we were fraternal. First question EVERYBODY asks when I mention that I have a twin sister is – Are you identical or fraternal? My response was always that we are fraternal, but look VERY similar! We were always told that my mother had fraternal twin girls because we each had our own sac in utero. Every fraternal twin will have their own gestational sac in utero and this is because each egg was fertilized with their own sperm. So, fraternal twins have different DNA. The doctor that delivered us just assumed we were fraternal because we came from different sacs. My twin and I have always looked identical though. Same height, body shape, eye color, hair color, nose, eyes, feet, hands, etc.. Even though there were slight differences, most people knew right away that we were twins. So fast-forward 33 years later… One of my friends, who is a mom of twins, told me she had her twin girls genetically tested to be certain they were identical because each of her twin girls had their own sac. So, I did some research and found that identical twins can have their own sacs and it is quite common! I ordered the genetics test and had one kit sent to Ohio, where my sister lives, and one to North Carolina where I live. We swabbed our mouths, sent back the kits, and waited not-so-patiently for 2 weeks. They sent the results over email, so when I saw the email come through, I called my sister immediately and read the email to her over the phone. We were beyond shocked and excited that the results came back 99.9% sure we are IDENTICAL! Both of us cried. I can’t explain why, but it is crazy to think you have the same DNA as someone else! And for 33 years we were answering the identical/fraternal question WRONG!

My acne was only skin deep. My skin won’t stop me because I have found something that keeps it away! I know acne is not curable, but it is very treatable. I never had “bad” skin during my teenage years. Of course I had the occasional breakout, but I never really struggled with it. Fast forward to age of 28 when I started trying to get pregnant. My skin was horrible! I felt like a teenager. Then I actually got pregnant and it got worse! And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, I had my son and my crazy nursing hormones were just too much for my skin. For the first time in my life, I was embarrassed and ashamed of my skin. I had this beautiful baby and couldn’t be happier but I needed to fix the acne problem fast. A few months later, my friend started selling Rodan and Fields, the doctors of Proactiv Solution. They had regimens that addressed anti-aging, sensitive skin, adult acne (ah hello? thats me!), and dark marks and sun damaged skin. My skin cleared up using the UNBLEMISH regimen and stayed clear through another pregnancy, and nursing another baby two years later. I loved the products so much I decided to become a consultant. Now that my acne is cleared up, I am still aging so their REDEFINE regimen is going to help me keep looking young. UNBLEMISH saved my confidence and I am forever grateful. But I see so many woman in the same boat as me. Adult hormonal acne is not fun. I am sharing my skin concern to bring awareness to the skin condition psoriasis. Everyone has some sort of insecurity and no one is perfect.

Ok so you want a nice tan glow, but everyone is telling you to stay out of the sun. “It will give you wrinkles! You will get skin cancer!” Yes I agree with their advice! But we can get that sun-kissed glow without the sun or tanning bed – please people – get out of the tanning beds! All those self tanners 10 years ago gave the future of self tanners a bad rap. Most people turned out with streaky color all over or worse, they looked like an Umpa Lumpa (not a good look!). I myself have used a lot of self tanners in my day. So I feel pretty educated on it. The #1 product I have found is the Rodan + Fields Sunless Foaming Tan. Here is why: Foam based. That means it dries fast. No more walking around naked around your house for 1/2 hour or touching anything! No orange color! For all skin colors. Fair skin folks can use 1 pump and darker complected can use several pumps and several applications to get the color they want. Non greasy! This is what really sold me. I can put it on in the morning, and then apply my SPF and makeup. By lunch, I was nice and tan! For me, I just look better with a tan, and now I don’t have to get it from the sun (and all the wrinkles and cancer that comes with that!)

I was so happy for one of my good friends, Ali, to be featured on this blog! Her story is incredible. I remember sitting down with her about 3 years ago and she told me she started her own business selling skincare. I told her, “Good luck! I will buy some eye cream from you.” I was not sure at all what she was planning or where she was going to take this business. All I knew was that she was a smart business woman that was already making a 6 figure income with her bank job. Why on earth did she need the extra money? And how did she have time? She had a newborn and husband and a home to manage. She had a full plate already! Well, in a year, I watched her find great success and recruit 3 of our very good friends to join her. I sat back and asked myself, “What the heck am I missing here???!!!” After a year of being too chicken to do this business myself, I joined. Ali has since retired her 6 figure income job, makes more than that now, drives a free Lexus, stays at home with her young girls, and works her business around her busy family schedule – on her own time! And she is teaching me to follow in her footsteps. I am forever grateful for her in my life, not only as a friend, but as a mentor and business partner. She sure is living the dream! http://redefine.rodanandfields.com/blog/ali-aldrich-creating-new-path/

So I was kinda shocked when a few people I sold eye cream to, told me they had never used eye cream before – and they were in their 50s! I started using it in college! Well, a few of the eye cream virgins woke up with red irritated eyes that were puffy. Turned out they were practically putting the eye cream in (or too close to) their eye! So, I feel the need to help educate on how to put eye cream on effectively. If you refer to the image, you’ll see that the cream actually travels on your face almost an inch! Here are some tips when applying the cream: – Use your pinky finger to apply the cream; it’s the most gentle. – Dab it at least an inch away from your eyeball. – Use it morning AND night. – Use just a little bit, no need to glob it all over. And there you go, now you know how to effectively apply eye cream!

Hi, I am Kristin Cogan and I am a wife and stay home mom to my 3 1/2 year old son and 14 month old daughter. I wasn’t “looking” for a part-time job but I was introduced to Rodan & Fields by a few of my good friends. But, after hearing that I could partner with the doctors who created Proactiv Solution, didn’t have to host parties or stock product, and make my own hours, all while staying at home with my small children, I jumped right in. I immediately was so intrigued by this is ground-floor opportunity and that I could be among the first to offer this great product line. I have found something I truly love and that I don’t consider “work”. The best part of this business is working with incredible friends, meeting new people, and helping them meet their goals. I feel more empowered and I feel more alive than I ever have before and that is because I get to help people achieve financial freedom and success on a regular basis. Being able to contribute to my family financially and to have my children look up to me as a mom and a successful business owner is why I am loving this business. It has made me a better wife and mom because I have found the perfect balance between those roles while having my own outlet with R+F.
