Have you ever felt like you were doing something just to be doing it but you really didn’t know “why” you were doing it? Or… have you ever felt as if you had this grand vision which caused you to work yourself to the bone but the end result only left you feeling exhausted, deprived, and unfulfilled? One day I was door to door marketing for my Rejuve-N-Luv Body Scrubs when I came across a sweet lady who really supported my vision and mission. Not only did she invest in my body scrubs but she also gave me a purple wooden paddle that quotes, “Do Small Things With Great Love”. As my heart overflowed with warmth and my eyes filled with tears, it was a simple reminder that the greatest gifts come in small packages and are wrapped with love. The funny thing is, before ever meeting this kind woman, I have always told customers that my Rejuve-N-Luv Body Scrubs were handcrafted from the heart with love. Even though it is something so small, I pour my heart into the creation of each product; and although I have a grand vision for empowering moms, I will not let my final destination consume “me” or the greater purpose behind “why” I do what I do. In the beginning of my journey I got caught in all of the hype of trying to be a successful a mompreneur and life coach which caused my focus to be misaligned with my what my heart desired and the greater purpose that I was serving. See, what often happens is that our eyes start to get bigger than the view in front of us and then we easily get distracted, side tracked, and rerouted all because we lose touch with where our heart and true desires were leading us. Be intentional! Whatever dream, goal, or vision that you are setting out to achieve, know that it does not have to have be monstrous, glamorous, or shiny in order for it to light up the world. As long as you follow your heart, act intentionally, and execute it with great love, no matter how small or how big the deed is, your light will shine… and it will shine BRIGHT! But most importantly, remember that a woman who listens to her heart and walks purposefully towards her dreams will attract the divine opportunities and people with her light. So the next time that you are “going”, ask yourself, 1) what is the greater purpose that I am serving and 2) am I following my heart and acting with love. .

Recently I found this amazing product and I just have to share it with everyone I know!! Being only twenty years old, I still try my hardest to combat any signs of aging before it even has time to hit me! Like any other women, (at least I think), we will do anything to stay looking as youthful as we can for as long as we can! While some people like to spend more money on procedures to reverse the aging process by using Botox and other very expensive treatments, others like to fight it by not having to spending as much but while still achieving great results! In my opinion, I do typically think that the more you spend (and this goes for everything), the more you get out of some thing!! But, with that being said… Dundundun! The Queen Bee of all face creams: Beenigma! I have been absolutely loving this stuff! And if you’re wondering about the whole “bee” thing… Well, this all-in-one face cream actually is derived from actual bee VENOM. Yup, that’s right, venom! Kind of scary when you first think about it, but when you actually learn what it’s doing to your skin and when you see the results, it really is the bees knees. I bet you’re wondering how bee venom has anything to do with fighting wrinkles and making you look more youthful, so I’m here to tell you what I’ve learned about it! So basically just think of it as getting tiny bee stings all over your face (just what every one wants, right? haha!), but really, everyone’s been stung by a bee before, and what happens? Your skin swells up! That’s exactly what the venom in the cream does to your skin! Your skin reacts as if you’ve been stung. You’re probably thinking “Ouch! I am not rubbing that stuff all over my face!!”, but actually, inflammation is not a side effect and it does not feel like a bee sting, maybe just some tingling as first! The result? Any fine lines are instantly reduced, filled in and skin is plumped, has better elasticity, and has a more smoothed appearance and feel to it! Plus, the more you use it, the more effect you’re going to get! I’ve only been using this product for a few weeks, but already see awesome results! Of course this products is not suitable for any one with a known bee allergy, because that’s just pretty self explanatory. Like I said before, being only twenty, I may not have as many signs of aging as others, but we all want to look our best and feel our best and I think the first step to that is preventing the things that make us feel not so glamorous. The cream is also made with ingredients like Manuka Honey and Shea Butter, which are both very soothing. Manuka Honey has a very high grade of antibacterial factors, which make it great for acne and keeping your face clear, defiantly being a big plus! Packed full of amino acids, minerals and vitamins, Manuka Honey has much more healing power and anti-aging capabilities compared to normal honey! Overall, it’s just an awesome product, I totally recommend it any one looking for a new skin cream! As for my skin care routine, I use Beenigma in the morning after I wash my face and at night after I have used my Clarosonic brush to get my makeup and gunk from the day off! Very little goes a long way too, so don’t be alarmed by the size of the container! Oh! And as for the price, not being the cheapest at $130 a container, it gets the job done, and in my opinion it is TOTALLY worth every cent as every last drop of this product is gold. Beauty is pain, well not in all cases, but pain can come from too-high price-tags. Haha!

My Friend, Kymm McLean, is a makeup artist who I work alongside with in the wedding industry and she posted a status that I felt cleared up a lot of questions I’ve always had on makeup, the costs of it, and the chemicals in the makeup, so I thought I would share it with you… Enjoy! Kymm says: I was asked today if you can accomplish a great makeup face with drugstore brands vs. department store brands. So here we go, I have alot to say about this subject so I’ll keep it as brief as possible. When you purchase a drugstore brand, such as Loreal, you are paying for the ingredients, manufacturing, shipping, stocking and advertising. When your purchase department/boutique store brands such as Mac, you are paying for the same, but also for staffing (including hourly rates that average $20-30 an hour, health insurance benefits, training), extensive marketing campaigns, the gratis or “free” makeup that employees are given, testers, returns, etc. The profit margin to provide these additional costs is in the MILLIONS. I used to work for Mac, I saw the product manufacturing invoice once, the eye shadows were $.50 to produce, they retail for $16. So, to answer that question, are the ingredients of a higher quality? No. They are typically the same, if you don’t believe me, compare labels. However, you can purchase a Loreal lipstick and hope for the best. Or you can go to a Mac counter, sit down, have an artist help you chose the colors best for you, try them on and return if it doesn’t work. Is it worth the additional cost? That’s a personal decision you have to make. Both brands are full of carcinogenics, parabens, dyes, preservatives, and other ingredients that contribute to bio body burden. Are there brands that don’t use these ingredients? Absolutely, and you can find many of them at the drugstore or health food grocery store. So, final word. If you simply love a department store makeup item, by all means purchase it. Just be aware that it’s not BETTER, it just provides an EXPERIENCE you can’t get at a drugstore : )

Many people ask me, ‘What’s it like to be a disabled blogger?’ Well, I really don’t think there’s much of a difference between myself and a ‘normal’ blogger. I do think I have an advantage over normal bloggers in the sense that I can mention things that most people never think of mentioning. For example, with technology, disabled people may have certain afflictions that won’t allow them to use the device the same ways an able-bodied person can. I also get to review products that able-bodied people wouldn’t have a use for. I’ve reviewed adaptive clothing and household helpers that are designed with disabled people in mind. The companies I’ve worked with appreciate my reviews because I represent the audience they are trying to attract. I enjoy my blog because it helps me connect with companies and let them know how easy their products can be used by a disabled person or if they need to redesign it. I hope I bring a positive outlook and presence to the web and my readers enjoy my content. Join the conversation! Easily contribute your story here with the tag “WIRL Blogging”. About the Author… This WIRL was contributed by Rebecca Lawson, 35, disabled with Cerebral Palsy (CP for short), Blogger for 2 years. She can be found at her website, on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

With the rates of melanoma (the deadliest form of skin cancer) continuing to surge across the United States, protecting yourself and your family from the dangerous effects of sun exposure has never been more important. A whopping 80 percent of the 1,700 sunscreen products that the Environmental Working Group reviewed this year contain harmful ingredients or offer inadequate protection against dangerous ultraviolet radiation. So before you hit the beach or go outside this summer, know what is in your sunscreen. …80 percent of the 1,700 sunscreen products that the Environmental Working Group reviewed this year contain harmful ingredients… It’s a scary reality that the vast majority of sunscreens stocked on American store shelves aren’t as safe as most of us think they are. Many simply do not provide enough UVA protection and some contain potentially hazardous chemicals such as oxybenzone, a hormone disruptor, or retinyl palmitate, a form of vitamin A linked to skin damage. I have become totally addicted to using the free app that the Environmental Working Group created called Skin Deep. It lets me see the safety scores of the sunscreen products that I use on myself and my family. The scores are ranked from 1 to 10, 1 being the safest product and 10 being the most harmful. I have become totally addicted to using the free app that the Environmental Working Group created called Skin Deep. I am so glad to be a consultant with Beautycounter; it is our mission to get safe products in the hands of everyone. Beautycounter’s All Over Protect sunscreen scores a 1 on the Skin Deep app, it may be something to consider for you and your family…I know I love it! Remember not all sunscreens are created equal.

As a stay at home and homeschooling mom with a husband who is working and going to school full time, I almost never get alone time for just me. I feel I have forgotten how to take care of me. I want to feel like a sexy woman again. I am no longer breast feeding or pregnant and all my kids but one are potty trained. I want “me” back. I feel in the past 8 years of mothering I have lost all sense of “me” and being a “woman”. So I need your help! Money is not fluid at all I have very little to work with so please me conservative in some of your recommendations money wise. Here’s a list of what I need help with. Comment below to respond to ANY question. Your advice is GREATLY appreciated!! 1) I have been using my husbands razor to shave my legs for 8 years. Do you recommend a good woman’s razor that gives a close shave so I can have smooth sexy legs again? 2) I almost never work out. I need to work out badly. I cannot afford a gym. What are some moves I can do in the morning before my children wake up that I can do to get toned up again? 3) Facial care. I have been using soap. Dove soap or just something that looked pretty at Marshalls for my face. But my pores on my nose still feel bumpy I want this to go away. What (facial care) products do you like? remember $ not $$$? 4) Please help me with quality shoes for support and comfort for my older over weight self that wont make my feet hurt at the end of the day! I was considering Lands End. I don’t want to look like a grandma and I don’t want to look like a Kardashian. Something practical for a busy mom but still cute. This I’m willing to spend a bit more on. I feel comfortable with Lands Ends prices. 5) Make up. I rarely were make up. But when I do I don’t want to look like a 13 year old. I know how to put it on, but I just want some suggestions for some great, yet inexpensive, products. 6) Hair clips and products to do your hair with that you love. Brushes, clips, and product. Go! I have been wearing my hair in pony tail my whole life, I want to feel like a woman! 7) Nail care products, so my old looking nails from scrubbing tubs don’t look so shabby. 8) I always just bought the cheapest and best smelling deodorant. Should I be looking into this more? What do you use? 9) Moisturizer for my hands and skin. Not lotion! 10) Sunscreen for me and my kids. Do you have a favorite? Why? Thanks for reading and sharing your favorite things with me!

Becoming an entrepreneur can be exhilarating and freeing, but also very scary and daunting. After being in the corporate world for 15 years, I decided that real estate was where I could make good money. I prepared myself with a 5 year plan, sold a house that I had a lot of cash invested in, and bought a very small and practical condo. It was just enough for me and my dog. Several years passed and I built a strong business and I was living off my real estate income. I was not shopping at Nieman Marcus anymore, but I was not getting groceries from Walmart anymore like I did in the beginning of my real estate career. Life was good and I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was not prepared for what happened when the real estate market crashed in 2008. I literally had no income for a year and I was in panic mode. I was losing all my savings, my dignity, and myself. Those were very dark and dim days and I was suffering from depression and anxiety. A friend of mine reached out to me and told me about a new start up company that sold couture costume jewelry. The jewelry was sold online and via in-home trunk shows. It was a direct selling company and all I could think of was that it was a scam and it was icky. “No way I am going to get involved, I have a college degree and I am not going to be a part of this shady business”. After several conversations with my friend who had signed up to be a Stylist, I decided I had nothing to lose. I loved the jewelry, the price point, and I saw potential to make a significant amount of money. I jumped in not knowing where to start but I worked my business the best I knew how. Along the way I made many mistakes, but also had a lot of successes. I was learning the retail business, how to recruit, motivate others and help people achieve their dreams. Direct selling is not for everyone, it sometimes looks easier than it is. It is a career, you have to work as if you are working a job. The magic to the business is loving the product you are selling and being passionate about it. You have to work your business a little everyday, I usually gage 10-15 hours a week. You need to be consistent, never give up, set personal/business goals, mentor your team, and most of all lead by example. The rewards in direct selling are over the top! You have flexibility, you dictate how much you want to earn, you make wonderful friends along the way, and you will grow as an entrepreneur. After 5 years, I grew a team of over 400 stylists and sold over a million dollars in accessories. It was a very rewarding experience and I recommend this business to anyone. You do not have to be a great sales person, so do not be afraid. When you go to a department store and need to buy a camera, the salesperson is there to give you the features of the camera. Let’s say you decide to buy it, you are so pleased and you go back days later to tell the salesperson that you are happy with your new camera. What if the salesperson asked you if you wanted to sell a camera just like the one you have to your friends. Would you want to do that? You loved the camera and you could make money for letting them know how great the camera is and it’s features. This is what direct selling is and I can tell you that it was one of the best choices I made for myself. I am in control of my destiny now and you can too.

Why buying a nursing bra is okay. Sometime last year I was in Target shopping for the ever-so-gracious bra that I seemed to either never fill out, or never fit in. There was always something wrong with them. For example, why is the wire sticking out of the bottom? Why is there even a wire in my bra? Who makes these? Did this person have big boobs? I bet this person had no boobs at all. Do men like boobs? Then I stopped asking myself the exact same questions I ask every single time and started shopping. Alright, over here there is a blue one, looks kinda cool… ohh but over here is a red one. That seems even better! ALRIGHT! Get it together ! …. Again, I start looking at my options. First I try a plain white one with absolutely no padding. This was probably the worst idea possible. No padding = thicker wire. Thicker wire = death to chest testicles. SO, I quickly put that one to the side and moved on to the cute little red one. It seemed modest yet fun, while having just enough support for little to no boobs. By then I asked myself another question, Why do I care about my bra looking “fun?” … I put that one down, too. One hour later, and almost twenty bras in, I found one that looked like a soft baby Lamb and as comfortable as a sheet of silk. I ran to it while my hair flipped behind me, feeling the freezing air hit my back. And thinking about how tight the bra was that I was currently in. How itchy and irritable a bad bra could make me! I picked up the bra, looked at the tag, and realized something was off…. instead of saying a size in bra terms, it said “Medium”. So I paused…. wiped my eyes, and looked at it again. BUT it still said “Medium”. Not only was the size off, but there was an odd string attached to it that clipped at the top of the bra. I wondered what in the world that could possibly be used for. It looked like a little phone slot. I undid the clip and BAM…. half of the bra was dangling by my belly button. Now clearly, being the person that I am, I thought this was the funniest thing in the world, not to mention quite awesome! Have you ever seen a bra that acted as a Transformer? … Didn’t think so! So, I decided not to try this one on. I figured that if I just bought it as a size that would look like it fit, then it probably would. I made it all the way home while talking to my mom about how I finally found one and how excited I was that I wouldn’t have to go bra shopping again for a while! On the day that I decided to wear the bra I realized that it was definitely not a normal bra… and that I was definitely right about the whole Transformer thing. This bra was actually a nursing bra! Imagine the look on my mothers face when her sixteen year-old daughter waked downstairs to tell her mother that she had just purchased a nursing bra! I was hysterical! How didn’t I notice? At that point I actually felt kind of embarrassed to be wearing the bra. After all, wouldn’t someone assume that I was nursing if I wore the bra? But it was so comfortable! Can’t I just keep it? And that is exactly what I did. I kept that maroon nursing bra, despite the fact that I am not pregnant, nor am I nursing. In fact, I have another ten years before I may become pregnant. To be honest, I kept the bra because it is the most comfortable one I have ever put on. It has absolutely no wires, so that means I don’t get a surprise stabbing throughout the day, PLUS, it even has a THICK BAND so it improves comfort automatically! If you’re ever out and about, shopping for the right bra for you, pregnant or not, nursing bras are well worth it and very comfortable. I mean hey, if the bra fits, hook it up and wear it. Or is that for shoes? (:

I love my Keurig 2.0 machine, but I do not drink coffee. One feature that I especially love, aside from the sleek design and pretty colored lights that it brings to the kitchen, is that my Keurig can give me hot water on demand to make my black or chai tea every morning. But, I HATED that I had to stand there and press the “dispense water” button the whole time; I have things to do you know…I don’t have time to spend standing there pressing a button! So, I decided to get smart. I am usually a very innovative person in that I figure things out or I “rig” it so that it works in my favor; in other words, I get what I want often. I knew there had to be a way to automatically dispense hot water from my machine without constantly pressing this button. I was having a weak moment and decided to make some hot cocoa one day (don’t judge) and a lightbulb went off…once the hot chocolate (powder) was emptied from the pod, there was nothing left! So, I thought, what if I try to put the pod in again, and allow the machine to “make” another batch, with an EMPTY pod? BINGO! The water passed through the empty pod and out came my water…but the BEST PART was that I didn’t have to press that button the whole time to get it! In fact, I could increase the amount of water dispensed and get 10oz all in one go!! HOW AWESOME! So, now, when I want to make up a cup of tea, I insert that empty pod of hot chocolate into my Keurig and trick the machine to thinking it making me hot chocolate. It works like a charm!
My acne was only skin deep. My skin won’t stop me because I have found something that keeps it away! I know acne is not curable, but it is very treatable. I never had “bad” skin during my teenage years. Of course I had the occasional breakout, but I never really struggled with it. Fast forward to age of 28 when I started trying to get pregnant. My skin was horrible! I felt like a teenager. Then I actually got pregnant and it got worse! And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, I had my son and my crazy nursing hormones were just too much for my skin. For the first time in my life, I was embarrassed and ashamed of my skin. I had this beautiful baby and couldn’t be happier but I needed to fix the acne problem fast. A few months later, my friend started selling Rodan and Fields, the doctors of Proactiv Solution. They had regimens that addressed anti-aging, sensitive skin, adult acne (ah hello? thats me!), and dark marks and sun damaged skin. My skin cleared up using the UNBLEMISH regimen and stayed clear through another pregnancy, and nursing another baby two years later. I loved the products so much I decided to become a consultant. Now that my acne is cleared up, I am still aging so their REDEFINE regimen is going to help me keep looking young. UNBLEMISH saved my confidence and I am forever grateful. But I see so many woman in the same boat as me. Adult hormonal acne is not fun. I am sharing my skin concern to bring awareness to the skin condition psoriasis. Everyone has some sort of insecurity and no one is perfect.
