2014 was ending and I was 7 months deep into post college graduation blues. Since turning the tassel, I was traveling on the weekends, working full-time as an Industrial Engineer during the week, and embracing the real world with a rather heavy heart. I did it “right” …I played by the rules. You know, the rules that state if you study, get good grades in high school, and join every extracurricular activity so your college application looks fancy then you’ll get into the right school? And as long as you pick a real major then you’re guaranteed to be making good money right after college. Ha, what a nice set of rules. What does a real major even mean? But as a senior in high school, I saw a paycheck and the rules looked enticing. So despite the fact that I was 18 years old and couldn’t stay the night anywhere other than my parents (yep, senior in high school and still got homesick 2 miles down the road), I flew across the country to go to Arizona State University. Fast forward 4 years and I was graduating with my degree in engineering and starting full-time as an Industrial Engineer. Fast forward another 7 months and I was feeling defeated. A new friend of mine had just added me on Facebook and I was captured by her posts highlighting her lifestyle full of working out, clean eating recipes, and inspirational quotes/pictures. I let it go for only a week and then after realizing I was paying for a gym membership that I hadn’t gone to since the previous summer ended, I reached out to her, determined to end 2014 on a good note. I bought the 21 Day Fix Challenge Pack on the last day of 2014 from the same friend when I found out she was a Beachbody Coach. I had never heard of Beachbody, only a few of their programs like Insanity and P90X but I was excited about this new program. With that purchase, I vowed I would make “getting back in shape” one of my top New Year’s resolutions…. For the 4th year in a row. Fast forward 21 days of clean eating and working out with Autumn Calabrese (21 Day Fix trainer) each morning, I was in the best shape I had ever been in. Thanks to my coach inviting me to her online accountability group, I completed the challenge and I stuck to the meal plan and workouts 100%. It was the first time I had actually completed a fitness program (thank goodness, I think my boyfriend was fed up with me buying programs and letting them sit in a cabinet). I had my before/after photos and I loved my results, but my physical appearance was not my greatest transformation. The outlook I had on life and my new mindset was my greatest victory. I thought to myself, “Why doesn’t EVERYONE try this program?” It was so simple to follow, with enough guidance to help you get results, but enough flexibility to allow you to have a life. All it took was one person to make that BIG of a difference in my life so I KNEW I had to pay it forward. I had my before/after photos and I loved my results, but my physical appearance was not my greatest transformation. The outlook I had on life and my new mindset was my greatest victory. The rest is history, right? ..Not quite, but I’m just getting started! I’m still working on my own progress, but now I am encouraging others to join me and helping them find success on their fitness journey! No, I don’t have a background in Health or Fitness. No, I don’t have a background in Sales. Yep, I went to school for engineering and am now paying back four years of out-of-state tuition (ouch). But I knew that if I could make ONE person feel the way I did, I could make a really big change and that made me feel like I had a purpose. So what is it really like being a Beachbody Coach? I’ll start by saying it is the coolest “job” ever. I get to help people each and every day while holding myself accountable AND I get paid for it? Yep. I show up every day for work (at my kitchen table post workout in my sweaty workout clothes) and I have one mission: helping others. Beachbody’s corporate mission is “to help people achieve their goals and enjoy healthy, fulfilling lives” and I get to be part of that for myself and others every day. Don’t get me wrong, I was hesitant at first. “Am I getting myself into a Pyramid Scheme?!” “Am I going to have to buy a bunch of products in the beginning?” “I am not a sales person.” But after I did my research all my worries were put to rest. No, I don’t have to invest in a bunch of product up front in hopes of getting rid of it and sell, sell, sell. In fact, I don’t have to invest ANYTHING up front other than investing in PEOPLE! I have no inventory. My mission is NOT to sell. I have no monthly quota that I have to meet & there is no fine print. You can sign up as a coach today and never sell a single thing and THAT IS OK! You will just reap the benefits of the coach discount, which a lot of people do! So you mean it’s not about the money? Nope. I hold FREE monthly accountability groups for people who have purchased a Beachbody home workout program, but I also hold challenge groups (also free) for people who aren’t interested in buying a workout program so we do other workouts or an ab challenge, or a plank challenge, etc! I also run FREE clean eating groups where I provide challengers with meal plans. I share all of my tips on clean eating and work 1:1 with all of my challengers. I share my knowledge and love for Shakeology, a nutrient dense meal replacement shake that I drink daily and wonder how I ever lived without and I shed as much light as I can on the people I am fully invested in. Pretty neat, isn’t it? The mission of Beachbody aligns with my personal mission. So why do I believe in this company so much? The mission of Beachbody aligns with my personal mission. The obesity rate is soaring in America and there are SO many programs, diets, ‘magical pills’ out there that guarantee QUICK results. It is hard to lose weight and live a healthy life in this country, I will be the first to admit it, but as long as we allow that to be our excuse, we won’t fix this problem. Losing weight and eating clean is possible if you are given the right resources which is why (in my opinion) diet pills and other ‘quick fixes’ don’t have the longevity that Beachbody programs have. As a coach, I don’t sell you a fitness program and wish you the best of luck and throw you out into the fitness world. I help you find a program that works for YOU, not for me, not for a previous challenger, but for YOU. Once we have found the perfect program, I invite you to my monthly challenge group. I help you identify your WHY so that you can create realistic goals and be mentally and physically ready to conquer your fitness program and then I am there for you every step of the way. Not just while you’re in my group, but long after. I think the best part is that I have challengers reach out to me thanking me for helping them, or for inviting them to one of my monthly groups, or simply being an inspiration and what these people don’t understand is that they’re MY inspiration. I am continuously in awe over the transformation of my challengers and the new lives they lead after joining my team. While they think I’m holding them accountable, they are really holding me accountable as well. I’m not going to motivate someone to go do their work out or skip the fast food drive through and then turn around skip my workout and enjoy a McDouble. I am just absolutely in love with this “job.” Being a Beachbody coach is not a ‘Get Rich Quick,’ multi-level marketing scheme . It takes time, dedication, hard work, passion and consistency. However you can, over time and persistent work and constant focus, make a really great income as a coach. Like up to 7 figures! Whaaaaaat? You always get out of this job what you put in, which is just another reason why I love it. I work daily on MY story and I share that story (mainly through conversation and social media) and encourage others to join me. Every day I personally invite people to join my accountability groups and I am building a team full of powerful women and men who want to make a difference. I am making a difference. I no longer feel defeated, I finally feel in control of MY life. So here we are, exactly one year after that college graduation and I am no longer working as an Industrial Engineer. I am a full-time Beachbody Health and Fitness Coach. And although I have not entirely given up on engineering career quite yet (in the process of moving from AZ to NC), I know Beachbody will always be part of my life and I know I will continue to help others and use this business as a basis for doing so and continue building off of that. I no longer feel defeated, I finally feel in control of MY life. So if you are feeling like you haven’t quite found your purpose or you are interested in helping others, creating a life by YOUR OWN design, or you want to make some extra income while working with an incredibly rewarding company, PLEASE reach out to me! You don’t have to be in your best shape and you don’t have to have any knowledge on health and fitness, you can create your story while working as a coach and going through your own journey. If you have a passion for helping people, you can and will succeed in this buisness with the right resources. I am putting together a “Sneak Peak: What is Beachbody coaching?” group on facebook starting June 1st and it will run 5 days and I give you all the juicy details of coaching. I’d love to have you join! *There are no obligations to sign up once the group is over! If you’ve been looking for a sign that NOW is the time to change your life, let this be it! If you interested in joining my next health and fitness accountability group, it will also start June 1st and I encourage you to take some time on YOU before summer gets any closer! My e-mail is fralickjill@gmail.com and you can find me on facebook at www.facebook.com/jilllrenae or follow me on Instagram @jrenae09 Thanks for sticking through my long post on What It’s Really like FOR ME as a Beachbody Coach!

I choose to stay active and eat healthy because that is what makes me feel good. It is NOT easy. It is very hard to get into this lifestyle, but trust me….once you are in it, you won’t look back. Now, I haven’t ALWAYS been active and a healthy eater. I have 3 kids, so you can imagine how many times I had to restart my “Healthy Lifestyle”. Everyone is different, so what works for my body, may not work for yours. But, for my body, jogging helps me A LOT!! Like I said, I have 3 kids. If I don’t jog in the morning (and it HAS to be in the morning – it helps me start my day off right), then I am not normal. haha… Weird, I know. Just missing a day of jogging turns me into another person. I put on my choice of music, which is dance, techno, hip hop — yea, I am one of those people you see jogging, with the music blasting in their earbuds. Hey! It works for ME. I have to feel energized and that type of music just gets me going! Working out, gives me energy to chase around my 10 month old and wrestle with my 3 year old and run my 9 year old to swim practice and girl scouts. Now, I am not one of those marathon joggers. I jog slow and stop a lot. I also belong to the UFC Gym and do kickboxing and strength training. I think I like that a lot because it makes me feel like I belong to a team. Everyone encourages you and makes you feel good. They don’t try and be perfect or sugar coat crap. They are all there for one reason…to work out! You just go in, get your shit done, chit chat for a bit, and leave. Boom. Done. If I feel like people watching, I will go to the gym and do some cardio while watching other people that are supposed to be working out, chatting, or flirting with people. It is actually quite entertaining! You should try it some time! So, I work out for me! I don’t do it to impress anyone (other than my hubby) but ME!! It makes ME feel good, gives ME energy, and keeps ME in a good mood — and a little wine keeps me in an even better mood!

You’ve seen them shuffling down the street. Fragile old men and women who need canes or walkers to help them move because they’re likely to tip over at any second. About 10 years ago I realized I was turning into one. In my generation kids were expected to spend a lot of time outside, so I was in the habit of being active. Unlike nowadays, youth sports were limited but our high school fielded some good teams and I played field hockey in the fall and tennis in the spring. Some of my friends played three sports. My active life continued until I graduated from college and began working. You can probably guess what came next. Your story may even be similar. Work, marriage, children, aging, weight gain, and loss of flexibility– not necessarily in that order. I’m at the point where, to me, fitness means having the ability to walk a mile and a half to the grocery store, make my purchases and carry them back home. To be able to squat without pain to get something out of the bottom cabinet. To be able to get on the floor to play with my grandson and get back up without a big production. That’s not to say I don’t “work out”. I do big girl pushups, squats and crunches regularly. Stretching is part of my daily routine. My library of workout DVDs is always ready for me. I’m at the point where, to me, fitness means having the ability to walk a mile and a half to the grocery store, make my purchases and carry them back home. To be able to squat without pain to get something out of the bottom cabinet. To be able to get on the floor to play with my grandson and get back up without a big production. The thing is, my motivation has changed. I don’t workout to be strong, or to lose weight or to improve my time in a 5K, although I’m really happy that these are side effects of an active lifestyle. My fitness goals are much simpler. I want to avoid being the old lady with the walker. Join the conversation!
Until recently, I vowed that I would have an exclusive relationship with the workout system T25 for the rest of my life. Although I still have very strong feelings for the very effective 10 week DVD workout program, our relationship is starting to get a little “complicated” since my family and I made the decision to join the YMCA. I’ll be honest, in the beginning, I joined the Y because it offered 2 hours of childcare per day included in the price of the membership (don’t judge). I thought would use that two hours of childcare for my son to meet and play with some new friends while allowing me workout a couple days each week AND on the days I chose not to workout, I could use that “kid-free” time to sit in the lounge and get some WIRL Project work done. I know, I know, probably not the BEST reason to “join” the gym in the first place, but for some reason I felt in my gut that it was the right decision. Plus, my husband wanted to have a place to play some basketball and shoot around before and after his workouts. It seemed like a win-win. So, it came to our first day at the Y and I was nervous. I was nervous to drop my son off at the childcare (which he now LOVES) and I was nervous about taking a “group exercise” class. I hadn’t done any working out in a group setting since my college volleyball days…it had been a while and I wasn’t sure how I’d measure up. I dropped my son off and that went well, then I walked into the “Athletic Conditioning” class and saw that a lot of people already knew each other. I felt like the “new kid” at school because I didn’t know anyone! Anyway, the workout began and it was hard as hell. OMG, honestly it was kicking my ass. Then, to my left, these group of women, who I’d saw when I initially walked in, started cheering me on. They’d say, You got this, girl! or Keep going! Don’t give up! You’re doing great! and these few, out-of-breath words meant a lot to me. As I said before, I’d done “at-home” workouts by myself for years and I LOVED them! But, at this class at the Y, I had a bunch of people cheering me on and encouraging me to be better; it was awesome! This sort of thing does not happen when you’re in your living room doing the DVD all by yourself. Then, to my left, these group of women, who I’d saw when I initially walked in, started cheering me on. They’d say, You got this, girl! or Keep going! Don’t give up! You’re doing great! and these few, out-of-breath words meant a lot to me. At that moment, I was hooked. I knew it was the right decision to join the Y (see I told you), but it wasn’t until that little “boost” did I fully understand how this gym membership could fill a void in my life. Now, I go to class and socialize and workout with my gym buddies and I love it! I realized this was a big missing piece for me, especially after becoming a stay-at-home mom, and I also realized that it didn’t hurt to be around a bunch of motivated, awesome people on a regular basis! So, for me, working out has always been about being strong, healthy, fit, and toned. I usually did it because I wanted to look good or to feel better about myself, and don’t get me wrong, those are still several of the reasons I do workout, but now, I really enjoy that little bit of competitiveness that I feel in the group class setting, even though there is never a “winner” or “loser”, the extra people around me keep me accountable, motivated, and offer words of encouragement when I really need them. I also like the fact that I can pay it forward and do that for someone else as well. So, for me, the REAL reason I workout now is because I want to feel strong, in a physical way, but also in the fact that I want to be a part of something fun and social, that pushes me to be better than I currently am. There are not many places you can go in this day and age where people purposefully build you up and don’t try to bring you down; for me the gym is a positive place. I want to feel strong internally and translate that into confidence because the results I seek now are different than just the “body” I used to be aiming for (if that makes sense). My results aren’t really measured by numbers on the scale as much anymore (although those numbers still matter a lot to me), but more by the strength I feel when I pick up and play with my son or the feeling I get when I’m around such awesome like-minded people who are all trying to better themselves too; that’s the REAL reason I workout these days, and I LOVE it!

This topic is near and dear to me. As a kid I was never an athlete. Didn’t like team sports. Couldn’t run, jump or catch. Finally in my 20’s I started working out like Jane Fonda. Aerobic classes were much more my style. I was modeling at the time and knew if I was to continue doing swimsuit work I’d better find something to keep the “bottom line” in place! As the years went on, I continued with aerobics and step classes, added stationary bike, spinning, stairmaster and weight training. After I stopped modeling I became a personal trainer. I wanted others to know of the satisfaction of getting your heart rate up and feeling alive. Feeling those muscles get stronger. I love the fact that I am approaching 60 and I’ve never been healthier. After I stopped modeling I became a personal trainer. I wanted others to know of the satisfaction of getting your heart rate up and feeling alive. 15 years ago The Hubby and I started eating The Chopped. I created the concept of chopping healthful ingredients and topping them with a super flavorful dressing. The concept has grown immensely since then. This kind of eating fuels my workouts. No matter what’s in store for the day. 14 years ago The Hubby got me into road cycling. He told me “You should try road biking, I think you’d like it”. Once I got over the anxiety of riding on the street I was hooked! We’ve cycled all over Europe. Climbing every mountain on our bikes. I’ve had cycling coaches for the last 10 years. The high intensity workouts have helped me win many cycling challenges including a Century’s and Double Century’s, (100 and 200 mile days.) I’m a “numbers noggin”. I am motivated to achieve the power numbers and heart rate numbers that my cycling coach sets out for me. I have a computer on my bike and always wear a HR monitor to keep track of calories burned. I send all the data to my coach via computer. I also get on the scale every day. Keeps me on track within a couple of pounds. I’m a “numbers noggin”. When The Hubby and I are done with a crazy intense ride we call the feeling a GPT and HSL…Great Piece of Training and High Satisfaction Level. I crave that feeling. Training for snow skiing motivates both of us. Every September we step up our leg training so we can be first on, last off the mountain. That is exhilarating. I became a personal trainer 20 years ago, I wanted to help people embrace a healthful, active lifestyle. Now I talk the talk and walk the walk combining fitness, healthful eating with The Chopped and Lifestyle Choppertunities. My motivation for working out has morphed throughout the years. In the beginning I’ll admit it was for “how I looked”. Years ago, I realized that all the training and good eating was keeping me from getting sick, added to my quality of life, and I know in my bones (now as dense as they were when I was 25) that exercising on a regular consistent basis will keep me going strong for many years to come. I can’t be more grateful that The Hubby and I share the same fitness philosophy. We’ll grow old together, cycling into the sunset! Join the conversation! Easily contribute your story here with the tag “WIRL Workout”. About the Author… This WIRL was contributed by KC the Kitchen Chopper.
Recently, I’ve been been searching high and low, trying to find the healthiest very of me. Along with working out every day and trying to eat as clean as I can, my favorite part of this fitness kick I’m on is the yummy protein smoothies I get to indulge in after my intense workouts !! I thought I’d share my favorite smoothie yet, Piña Colada, because it is oh so yummy !! Change it up as you please, but here’s what I used !! Ingredients: • 2 scoops Vanilla protein powder • 1/2 cup pineapple orange juice • handful of fresh pineapple chunks • 1/4 tsp rum extract • 2 tbsp shredded coconut (I used A LOT MORE, more like 1/2-1) • 1/2 cup soy/almond milk • 1/4 cup chia seeds • as much ice as you desire Directions: Mix all ingredients together and blend together in a blender. *Picture, alternate recipe, and post can also be found at here at FrugalCouponLiving.com

So why do I love the workout system T25? Well, because it works! Nobody had to pay, bribe, or ask me to say that – it’s just the truth! If you don’t know what T25 is, it’s a collection of about 15 DVD workouts that come with a schedule to follow. Each workout is 25 minutes long (hence the 25!) and it was created by the Insanity guy, Shaun T. There are two phases that come with the set, Alpha and Beta, and each phase is about 5 weeks long (there is a third phase, but you have to purchase it separately and I’ve yet to try it). Each workout has a “focus” – sometimes it’s abs, sometimes it’s cardio, sometimes it’s lower body, etc – and each workout has a “modifier” to show you low-impact versions of all the moves. So, why am I gaga over it? Well, as I said, it really works! I went from being the biggest I’ve ever been (post baby) to the best-shape-of-my-life by doing this system. Of course, to get the best results, you must follow the diet plan, that is included with the workout kit; I did it to the “T” and wow – it was incredible!!! To give you an example of what it’s really like – for breakfast I would have 2 eggs and 4 egg whites scrambled with parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper (I’ve literally ate this every morning for the past year, it’s so good!!). For lunch I’d have some chicken mixed with plain greek yogurt (I know, I hated the thought until I tried it, it tastes like sour cream!) and dijon mustard in a pita. Then for dinner, I’d have something like salmon with avocado and a homemade citrus dressing. Trust me, I NEVER cook (I’m NOT good at it) and I easily did this. Basically, if you limit your meals to about 300-350 calories and have a couple 100-150 calorie snacks per day, you’ll be sweet! To give you an idea of my frame, I’m 5’4 and typically weigh around 110-115 when I’m not pregnant or recovering from being pregnant (lol). When I started T25 the firs time, I was 125 and after just 8 weeks of doing these 25 minute workouts and following the meal plan…I was down to 108 and in the best physical shape of my life!! I lost a ton of “inches” and pounds and gained a lot of lean muscle (don’t worry, I promise you WILL NOT bulk up, I have a tendency to do this and I did not with this program) and I gained confidence! I wish I had a before and after photo to show you, but I don’t…sorry! I was toned, fit, had endurance, flexible, confident, not too skinny, and happy when I finished the T25 program; this isn’t something I can say about ANY OTHER workout series I’ve ever completed. So, almost a year later, I’m back at it again. The holidays (and my sisters-in-law visiting) got the best of me and I…let’s say…overate…so, come February I was ready to get back at it! I’ve just completed the Alpha Phase again and I’m very happy with where my body is right now. I’ve lost about 6 pounds and I’m getting toned and stronger. In fact, the last workout I did I noticed quite the spring-in-my-step jump!! I’m a very busy mom/entrepreneur/wife/etc. and I made the decision to commit 25 minutes to a healthier happier me. If you are looking for something quick, yet effective, to try to get ready for summer, I really suggest you look on Craigslist, Ebay, BeachBody.com, or Amazon and get this workout system! It’s very manageable and the results are better than anything else I’ve ever tried (including P90X, Insanity, & 30 Day Shred). And for those reasons, that’s why I love T25! P.S. I did not get compensated in any way to write this review, that’s not what WIRL Project is all about. I’m just telling it to you straight, in true WIRL style. Take it or leave it

Pregnant, avoiding the gym at all costs, and trying to decide which at-home workouts will give you the most bang for your prenatal buck? Well, look no further: I’m sharing with you my three favorite at-home pregnancy workout videos – and I’m going to tell you the best and worst of them both. I’ll answer your burning questions, such as: Which instructor will make you want to punch her because of the effortless, rapid way she moves around while 10 months pregnant? Who makes you wonder if she wolfed down a batch of pot brownies in her dressing room before filming her segment? Who will make you wonder if maybe you accidentally ate some funny brownies before sitting down with her to practice your kegels? And with that I bring you… The Best and Worst of My Three Favorite Pregnancy Workouts

I’ve recently, in the past year, done a 180 with my weight. I get emails all the time and wanted to share an example of the advice I give to a typical person in need of some help! Going from 170-120 lbs took two years and it could have taken a lot less time if I focused more on my nutrition!! Oh, and feel free to take advantage of the coupon code at the bottom of this post for Express Your Health, the best fresh meal delivery company out there!! Xo An example of an email I received recently: On Feb 18, 2015, at 4:29 PM, J…..@yahoo.com> wrote: Hey girl, We haven’t officially met but I know you through mutual friends. I was stalking you IG and just wanted to say how amazing you look especially for how short of a period you have been training and with being a mommy. I wanted to see if you could help me out with a diet. Let me know if you could help. I would greatly appreciate it!! Jessica My Reply: Hey love!! I’d love to help you out with your diet! You should be eating 6 meals a day, no carbs after 5/6pm! Meal 1: Start your day with plain oats, with 4-6 egg whites (I drink them, they taste like milk) and cook with Mrs. Dash or flavor God. Then the key is to eat every three hours on the dot, finishing each meal in its entirety. Meal 2: This should be something light (snack so to speak) such as nuts and a protein shake, optimum nutrition from GNC is fine (gold standard). Meal 3: For lunch, chicken or fish is perfect… 4 ounces, don’t go crazy- with rice and some greens or veggies! Meal 4: This should be asparagus/broccoli/green beans/Brussels and chicken or turkey (ground or burger) and white rice. No butter, salt is fine on everything. I cook with salt and pepper but that’s it honestly. Moving right along Meal 5: For dinner, steak/lean beef with a green (asparagus are the best). Meal 6: This is your protein shake or another beef meal! Easy peazy!!! Hope this helps write out your choices! Or you can always use my dear friend’s AMAZING company, Express Your Health if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands. It’s really not expensive, especially if you use the promo code: Eben2015, and I honestly spend more time and money at the grocery store and cooking, so if I were you, and if you can afford a whole week, or days worth of meals… I’d do that! But, I’m a diva.
