What It’s Really Like To Leave Life and Find Happiness. This is a WIRL I never expected to be sharing. To be honest (isn’t that the point here), I had no idea that I would be living in Bali, Indonesia. Or that I would truly enjoy writing. Just over a year ago I set myself free. I decided in a single moment that I wanted nothing more in life than to create endless happiness and freedom. I chose to leave a life that most might consider to be great, but to me was just mundane and never enough. After a bad breakup, loosing a home, my dog and a lot of money, I actually felt more free than ever before, despite the fear and sadness inside. I began learning about manifestation as I dedicated much of my time to meditation, yoga and understanding intuition while discovering myself, my true self. Soon, I learned to let those fears become my compass and I became empowered to actually live a life that most dream about. I changed the way I saw everything and everything I saw changed. Listening to my dreams and always looking for more of what would create endless happiness, I started to share out loud about my desire to travel. I wanted to be able to work and travel, anytime I wanted. Without plans, without an end date, without anyone telling what to do or how to do it. I just wanted to go out and explore the world and discover more of myself in the process. And I wanted to go to Asia. Then came the first of many magical manifestations. In one week I received two unimaginable opportunities to make this dream of endless travel come true. First, an invite from my cousin (currently living in Hong Kong) to join her on a yoga retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The resistance of having no money set in, and she quickly brushed it off saying she would cover the fees and I could pay her back by the time the trip came around 6 months later. Perfect! Only three days later, I received a call from a friend saying that Priceline.com had a glitch on their website. I snagged a one way ticket from New York, to Milan, to Prague, to Paris, to Bangkok (yes 5 flights in 1) for $177. And guess what, the flight from New York took off exactly one week after I would return from the first trip! I had no idea how I would make it work, but my intuition said, “YES!” So I listened. With 6 months to prepare, I learned about couchsurfing.com, workaway.info and made a financial plan. I didn’t make any serious travel plans though. I just went with the flow. (And made sure I was at the right airports at the right time!) In my heart I knew that I could create money and resources that would sustain my travels for as long as it was meant to be. I never bought a plane ticket home. I left on September 23, 2014 and besides the one week in between the trips, I haven’t been home since. Europe was amazing, but cold in the Fall. I explored Thailand from North to South for an entire month after landing the last leg of the “glitch” trip in Bangkok on November 7th. Throughout the entire journey, I continued to discover not just the world around me, but the world inside. As a photographer, I found new freedom in capturing the expressions of other cultures. I started to write about my experiences and share openly about my struggles and the lessons learned all while staying in awe of the fact that I created this. I found my happiness. During all the adventures, inspiration hit in many forms. I started a blog called, Live Wonderful. And I started to fall in love with writing. At first it was just to share my travels. But the blog quickly became much more than that. Now, it is an inspirational place for you to start believing in yourself too and reaching for pure happiness. Everything I write comes from my heart. It’s my real feelings, thoughts processes and the actions I take along this journey we call life. “The best freedom is being yourself.” My hope is to empower you to let go of past stories that are trapping you into a life you know isn’t want you really want. Discover your true passions and discover the real you. Because as long as you believe in yourself, anything really is possible. Some say that are afraid to travel or afraid to change anything in their life. They feel safe and secure (enough) to just stay the same. But I ask those people, “Are you truly happy?” I learned quickly that to find happiness and enjoy every moment, I had to embrace all obsticles and opportunities alike. I had to go with the flow, allow my fears to be recognized but not let them take control. While in Thailand, I discovered another desire within, I wanted to volunteer my time and talents in such a way that would allow me to create a home (away from home) for a little while. I wanted to be able to keep traveling but also have a humble abode to work, create and unpack the backpack for a bit. And by following my intuition, but holding on to no expectations, I booked a one-way flight from Thailand to Bali, Indonesia to begin working as a volunteer to help develop a creative center. Now, 5 months after arriving (and one round trip flight for a VISA run to Singapore), I’ve done it again. I’ve created a life I never thought possible, until I made it possible. I believed in the endless possibilities of life, I believed in myself, in my passions and in my intuition. I write to you today from Bali, feeling grateful and still in awe of the magic of life. Someone once told me that the best teacher in life is travel. I believe this is true. It sure has taught me more about the world and who I am in it. But before you can choose travel, you have to choose to believe that you are capable of absolutely anything you want. The real question is, “Do you believe you deserve everything you want?” We all deserve happiness, and I’ll spend the rest of my life exploring the possibilities of that truth. I hope reading this will inspire you to do the same.

2014 was ending and I was 7 months deep into post college graduation blues. Since turning the tassel, I was traveling on the weekends, working full-time as an Industrial Engineer during the week, and embracing the real world with a rather heavy heart. I did it “right” …I played by the rules. You know, the rules that state if you study, get good grades in high school, and join every extracurricular activity so your college application looks fancy then you’ll get into the right school? And as long as you pick a real major then you’re guaranteed to be making good money right after college. Ha, what a nice set of rules. What does a real major even mean? But as a senior in high school, I saw a paycheck and the rules looked enticing. So despite the fact that I was 18 years old and couldn’t stay the night anywhere other than my parents (yep, senior in high school and still got homesick 2 miles down the road), I flew across the country to go to Arizona State University. Fast forward 4 years and I was graduating with my degree in engineering and starting full-time as an Industrial Engineer. Fast forward another 7 months and I was feeling defeated. A new friend of mine had just added me on Facebook and I was captured by her posts highlighting her lifestyle full of working out, clean eating recipes, and inspirational quotes/pictures. I let it go for only a week and then after realizing I was paying for a gym membership that I hadn’t gone to since the previous summer ended, I reached out to her, determined to end 2014 on a good note. I bought the 21 Day Fix Challenge Pack on the last day of 2014 from the same friend when I found out she was a Beachbody Coach. I had never heard of Beachbody, only a few of their programs like Insanity and P90X but I was excited about this new program. With that purchase, I vowed I would make “getting back in shape” one of my top New Year’s resolutions…. For the 4th year in a row. Fast forward 21 days of clean eating and working out with Autumn Calabrese (21 Day Fix trainer) each morning, I was in the best shape I had ever been in. Thanks to my coach inviting me to her online accountability group, I completed the challenge and I stuck to the meal plan and workouts 100%. It was the first time I had actually completed a fitness program (thank goodness, I think my boyfriend was fed up with me buying programs and letting them sit in a cabinet). I had my before/after photos and I loved my results, but my physical appearance was not my greatest transformation. The outlook I had on life and my new mindset was my greatest victory. I thought to myself, “Why doesn’t EVERYONE try this program?” It was so simple to follow, with enough guidance to help you get results, but enough flexibility to allow you to have a life. All it took was one person to make that BIG of a difference in my life so I KNEW I had to pay it forward. I had my before/after photos and I loved my results, but my physical appearance was not my greatest transformation. The outlook I had on life and my new mindset was my greatest victory. The rest is history, right? ..Not quite, but I’m just getting started! I’m still working on my own progress, but now I am encouraging others to join me and helping them find success on their fitness journey! No, I don’t have a background in Health or Fitness. No, I don’t have a background in Sales. Yep, I went to school for engineering and am now paying back four years of out-of-state tuition (ouch). But I knew that if I could make ONE person feel the way I did, I could make a really big change and that made me feel like I had a purpose. So what is it really like being a Beachbody Coach? I’ll start by saying it is the coolest “job” ever. I get to help people each and every day while holding myself accountable AND I get paid for it? Yep. I show up every day for work (at my kitchen table post workout in my sweaty workout clothes) and I have one mission: helping others. Beachbody’s corporate mission is “to help people achieve their goals and enjoy healthy, fulfilling lives” and I get to be part of that for myself and others every day. Don’t get me wrong, I was hesitant at first. “Am I getting myself into a Pyramid Scheme?!” “Am I going to have to buy a bunch of products in the beginning?” “I am not a sales person.” But after I did my research all my worries were put to rest. No, I don’t have to invest in a bunch of product up front in hopes of getting rid of it and sell, sell, sell. In fact, I don’t have to invest ANYTHING up front other than investing in PEOPLE! I have no inventory. My mission is NOT to sell. I have no monthly quota that I have to meet & there is no fine print. You can sign up as a coach today and never sell a single thing and THAT IS OK! You will just reap the benefits of the coach discount, which a lot of people do! So you mean it’s not about the money? Nope. I hold FREE monthly accountability groups for people who have purchased a Beachbody home workout program, but I also hold challenge groups (also free) for people who aren’t interested in buying a workout program so we do other workouts or an ab challenge, or a plank challenge, etc! I also run FREE clean eating groups where I provide challengers with meal plans. I share all of my tips on clean eating and work 1:1 with all of my challengers. I share my knowledge and love for Shakeology, a nutrient dense meal replacement shake that I drink daily and wonder how I ever lived without and I shed as much light as I can on the people I am fully invested in. Pretty neat, isn’t it? The mission of Beachbody aligns with my personal mission. So why do I believe in this company so much? The mission of Beachbody aligns with my personal mission. The obesity rate is soaring in America and there are SO many programs, diets, ‘magical pills’ out there that guarantee QUICK results. It is hard to lose weight and live a healthy life in this country, I will be the first to admit it, but as long as we allow that to be our excuse, we won’t fix this problem. Losing weight and eating clean is possible if you are given the right resources which is why (in my opinion) diet pills and other ‘quick fixes’ don’t have the longevity that Beachbody programs have. As a coach, I don’t sell you a fitness program and wish you the best of luck and throw you out into the fitness world. I help you find a program that works for YOU, not for me, not for a previous challenger, but for YOU. Once we have found the perfect program, I invite you to my monthly challenge group. I help you identify your WHY so that you can create realistic goals and be mentally and physically ready to conquer your fitness program and then I am there for you every step of the way. Not just while you’re in my group, but long after. I think the best part is that I have challengers reach out to me thanking me for helping them, or for inviting them to one of my monthly groups, or simply being an inspiration and what these people don’t understand is that they’re MY inspiration. I am continuously in awe over the transformation of my challengers and the new lives they lead after joining my team. While they think I’m holding them accountable, they are really holding me accountable as well. I’m not going to motivate someone to go do their work out or skip the fast food drive through and then turn around skip my workout and enjoy a McDouble. I am just absolutely in love with this “job.” Being a Beachbody coach is not a ‘Get Rich Quick,’ multi-level marketing scheme . It takes time, dedication, hard work, passion and consistency. However you can, over time and persistent work and constant focus, make a really great income as a coach. Like up to 7 figures! Whaaaaaat? You always get out of this job what you put in, which is just another reason why I love it. I work daily on MY story and I share that story (mainly through conversation and social media) and encourage others to join me. Every day I personally invite people to join my accountability groups and I am building a team full of powerful women and men who want to make a difference. I am making a difference. I no longer feel defeated, I finally feel in control of MY life. So here we are, exactly one year after that college graduation and I am no longer working as an Industrial Engineer. I am a full-time Beachbody Health and Fitness Coach. And although I have not entirely given up on engineering career quite yet (in the process of moving from AZ to NC), I know Beachbody will always be part of my life and I know I will continue to help others and use this business as a basis for doing so and continue building off of that. I no longer feel defeated, I finally feel in control of MY life. So if you are feeling like you haven’t quite found your purpose or you are interested in helping others, creating a life by YOUR OWN design, or you want to make some extra income while working with an incredibly rewarding company, PLEASE reach out to me! You don’t have to be in your best shape and you don’t have to have any knowledge on health and fitness, you can create your story while working as a coach and going through your own journey. If you have a passion for helping people, you can and will succeed in this buisness with the right resources. I am putting together a “Sneak Peak: What is Beachbody coaching?” group on facebook starting June 1st and it will run 5 days and I give you all the juicy details of coaching. I’d love to have you join! *There are no obligations to sign up once the group is over! If you’ve been looking for a sign that NOW is the time to change your life, let this be it! If you interested in joining my next health and fitness accountability group, it will also start June 1st and I encourage you to take some time on YOU before summer gets any closer! My e-mail is fralickjill@gmail.com and you can find me on facebook at www.facebook.com/jilllrenae or follow me on Instagram @jrenae09 Thanks for sticking through my long post on What It’s Really like FOR ME as a Beachbody Coach!

This is my story of what motivated me. I felt like I didn’t have a choice, this needed to come out. What motivated you? What’s something that you didn’t pick, but instead IT picked YOU? After my husband proposed I remember feeling blissfully happy; sharing the news, celebrating with friends and family, and walkin’ on clouds, viewing everything through my bling’d out, rose-colored glasses. What I also remember is being really surprised at what I hadn’t prepared for when it came to actually planning the wedding. We attend weddings, but don’t see “behind-the-scenes” until it’s our turn. When that curtain cracks open for us and we excitedly peek behind it, out of nowhere – BAM! – we are hit with a giant sandbag swung from the rafters full of financial stress, pressure, and relationship challenges. And when I say ‘relationship challenges’, I’m talking about alllll your relationships: family, friends, business (because get ready, you’ll have lots of contracts to sign), and the postman, who is already a) assuming he’s invited and b) requesting you “don’t seat him in the nosebleeds”. There were many stages of wedding planning during which it became glaringly obvious to me why people elope. The race to measure up, keep people happy, stay financially stable, and balance all the moving parts can cause a slew of unforeseen obstacles and tricky situations, and most of this will naturally fall on the shoulders of the blushing bride-to-be. When the wedding planning began I suddenly felt that I’d stepped onto a malfunctioning factory conveyer belt that seemed to get faster as it progressed, operated by individuals who had apparently slugged one too many mimosas. People were standing by at their stations along the assembly line ready to package me up: the dress, the venue, the cake, and the opinions. Oh, the opinions. My head spun. I attended a bridal show, and wondered where the striped tent was above it all because it felt like a circus. “Take this to lose 40 lbs. before your big day!” “Register with us and get your free cake-mixer-slash-nose-hair-remover that you surely can’t have a happy ever after without!” “Your wedding will not be perfect until you get this undergarment designed to help hide all your back-fat! Our must-have wedding day accessory, inspired by Spanx and Satan, will hide away all your – wait, you didn’t know you had back-fat? Well thank goodness you came today so we can save you from looking like a giant sweaty wildebeest spilling out of her dress! You won’t be able to sit down or breathe, but that’s okay, because you will look breathtaking.” (*GUSH*) And the surprises kept coming. Suddenly, certain people whom I never thought had it in them were competing and comparing. My ring became an object of scrutiny and silent judgment. Expectations crept in, along with “to-do” lists. If I was the one getting married, why did it feel like I was throwing a wedding for everyone else? I couldn’t believe how overwhelmed I felt! I was grateful for our wedding, and there was much beauty amongst the chaos. So much beauty, and so much love! But the reality today is that planning a wedding is a pressure-filled, emotional time, and navigating through while keeping your sanity, finances, and relationships intact is like trying to complete a triathlon with no training. You may cross the finish line, but not before collapsing a few times while gasping for air (and maybe losing your wallet along the way). I thought I might have been better prepared – maybe even done things differently – if someone let me in on the “real deal” of what to expect, and it prompted me to write about my experience. What started as a small article that ran in a local magazine evolved into a book, The Bitch’s Bridal Bible, filled with stories from former brides and grooms, interviews with therapists, hilarious anecdotes and nuggets of wedding and marital wisdom reminding today’s bride to slow down, breathe, remain true to herself, and keep the focus on what it’s really all about: celebrating the decision to spend the rest of your life, with the love of your life. That you can in fact do things your way while remaining happy and keeping your relationships healthy, and that there are plenty of alternatives to side-stepping the faulty conveyor belt. If you’re planning a wedding you’ll likely encounter some of the obstacles that are inevitable along the way. But at least now you can enter the race with some training under your belt. I’ll be on the sidelines, cheering you on. I’ll hand you a towel and a bottle of water. And I certainly will not try to sell you a god-awful undergarment from hell. Promise.
