I wholeheartedly agree with you Martha.. I have fired two doctors, one was a GP, the other a specialist. Neither of them have any business treating patients, their bedside manners may have been good 25 years ago but they’re non-existent now. I have said many times, that you have to be your own advocate.. if you don’t stick up & look out for…[Read more]

Very well said Diane. It’s something that we all need to think about: making our wishes known, planning for the worse and hoping for the best, living wills.. all need to be taken into consideration. As Michael Crichton said— ‘No one escapes from life alive.’

Great tips.. saving money on groceries gives the household budget a huge bump up. Congratulations on finding a system that works for you!
After almost 40 years of married life there only 2 things that I would add to this ~
1) Coupons can be real money savers, especially if you shop at stores that double them. The key to saving money with…[Read more] -

Hmmmmmmmm, I read his article.. and was offended by IT. The way Luke McKinney describes Catholics is extremely offensive.. and his history lesson on St Patrick is more than a little skewed. In Ireland St Patrick’s Day isn’t a day spent drinking & carousing, it’s a day spent going to church and celebrating your faith. The drunken pub-crawling…[Read more]

Totally can relate…since living in AZ I think I have had about 6 (or more) stylists. Found one that was great & she quit doing hair. Finally think I have found a keeper..keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn’t quit!

It’s SO HARD to find new stylists when you move!!! Not necessarily because they don’t do hair well (except for in your case @auntdeb), but mainly because it takes so long for someone to learn your personality and style to give you a haircut that suits you best. Sorry for your luck…I’m sure it’s not as bad as you think – we are our own worst…[Read more]

Frozen chocolate covered bananas are always good ~ peel & freeze a banana.. cut it in half or thirds if it’s a large banana. When it’s frozen solid melt some good chocolate and dip the banana. Let the chocolate set and enjoy. You can make up several at a time and store them in Ziplock bags in the freezer for quick treats.
